I started back in 1993 working for condo one. I did a good job, so condo2 and three hired me to do the same for them. I've built all the decks and patio's and I don't think there is anyone who can build a better deck.
There was an other contractor who built some decks in here and they don't compare or match the decks and patio's we build.
I have established a good working relationship with board memebers and if there is any problems we repair them immediately.
Condo 4 got several bids and then hired the most expensive bid. What does that tell you?
Since when do you get rid of someone doing a good job and good work?
You look at everything negatively and never consider the positives of having someone with as much knowledge of Whispering Hills so close at hand.
If you had an emergency who are you going to call when you sewer or hot water tank is spilling all over the place at 9pm at night. Do you need three bids then. You need to get real.

When did anonymous become a "WE" ????? Scary thought The Great Multiple Anonymous. Was this just for Halloween or are you actually multiplying???? For the record, I enjoy what I do and while I do see that there are many great things about WH I realize that there is a lot opportunity to be helpful and make things better. As far as I am concerned all comments and criticisms that are presented respectfully and factually are welcome - even when aimed at my lame attempts at satire which apparently dropped like a rock on the sensative big toe of the Great Multiple Anonymous
Regarding Jan - I welcome this opportunity to thank Jan publicly for his hard work and efforts in support of Condo 2 this season. When others are sleeping or just hanging out on the weekend Jan is out Saturday/ Sunday and every day of the week getting things done. By the way decks built on Sunday cost the same as Decks built on Monday. Working together we kept Condo 2 Special Projects (deck/patio) on budget and we paced the work to keep our cash flow in check. Our decks and patios look great and we look forward to getting into the more complex areas with retaining walls next season. Acting with patience and understanding Jan put in a final few decks as the season drew to a close getting the most out of the season. For everyone's information - Jan is a guy that responds with helpfulness when called upon at all hours of day or night to address community needs. He responds to emergency calls routinely when individual homeowners need immediate assistance. Jan also will refer other reputable resources when it makes sense to do so for the good of the community. Jan needs no defense from Anonymous or anyone else. Jan does deserve the recognition that he has earned for jobs well done – Carole Condo 2
Again you are the bosses - the community is the boss. The issue for you is to address is how to get others involved to develop involvement of the majority of our members then to develop a consensus on what the most important issues to the community are then to prioritize concerns. Then to set goals of the community. Then to develop an action plan. -Goal -Process -Outcome The effort needs to begin with neighbors talking productively to neighbors. Let the finger pointing be your start but see it for what it is an acclamation - It says look at this - but that is all that it says and it effectuates no change but done repeatedly it perpetuates itself and goes nowhere. To make positive change we need to say more than look at this, we need to say more than " we need change". The process needs to include -Goal -Process -Outcome How can we work together to develop a process plan? How do we bridge the gap between the us and them - we are all us and we are all them.
Is everyone willing to work together? If yes lets make that the goal. Let this be the first step of the process, lets write the rest of the process together. Let the outcome be communication without hostility - we can build a true community from there.

So everyone...basically Jan has pretty much got ME convinced that we DON'T get 3 bids on all the work because he has been here since 1993, does good work, can show up at the drop of a dime, and he has good prices. He has basically told us that he has created a monolopy for himself with the board and community.
I'd like to see Jan's bill after showing up at 9pm to fix something.
Hey Jan...when you cut the cable wire in the ground and caused people to not have cable for a day...did your company refund the residents for that 1 days worth of cable? I didn't get money back from you? Cabe is $100 per month....so when is you construction corporation going to refund my $3.33? Hey...buys me a gallon of milk or a dozen eggs.
Again...Jan...you failed to give us your business license number???? So do you even have one???? Are you licensed in NY?
Are you bonded? Insured? You didn't answer those questions?

When people post Anony....75% of the time you are getting raw emotions. That is what we need to hear and now we know everyone on the board and other people in politically connected positions in WH ARE reading this.
The intelligent people can filter out the BS and name calling from the real issues.
If the issues about Jan that were brought up here weren't TRUE then he would have never wasted his time answering them. AGAIN, more red flags.
A blog is just that folks...open communication...LIKE THE ISSUES OR DISCUSSIONS OR NOT. THAT is what a BLOG is for.

I agree, we need a maintenance company. There is too much drama around here ..

AND for the recored Jan did a DAMN good job on my privacy fence. Actually a primo job. Still doesn't excuse US from getting 3 bids on EVERY JOB.
I'm a reasonable gal...18 years of dealing with these issues and I finally have an outlet to get stuff off my chest.
